More Horror Photography

This bunch of photos were taken on the remains of the Ski Village, which looks like something straight out of Chernobyl, and I don't mean that as a joke either. The place is both awesome and at some points pretty terror inducing.

My First Skating Photos

These were my first three photos of the day, obviously they look like crap - The colours are dry and off and to be honest I am terribly ashamed of myself because these were terrible. My friend also said he wanted them in colour, so I could not dip into black and white to save the photos from being bad.

This is where I was starting to get better, you can see progression in the colours, I also started mastering manual focus too, and even though he did not get that high off the ground, I am still proud that I was manage to capture it.

Arguably my best photo I took that day, really please with what I did with the colours too - the blacks are off-purple and the contrast is super tight. I took it at f2.8 which is a stop that I really want to explore.

This is where I started mastering manual focus and fast shutter speeds, on these I was working around 1/1000th of a second, which made the pictures have a really dank dynamic range - but I could fix that in post as I was using RAW.

Harry Callahan

These pictures are taken on 35mm film, these pictures are grainy and monochromatic which makes the shadows look deeper and darker. This picture is particularly inspiring due to the simplicity in the composition yet the intrigue in it's style.

These picture is really nice (not because of the girl's arse) because the paleness of the woman almost illuminates the rest of the image, making the contrast more interesting.

Susan Derges

This photograph is pretty nicely composed, however the depth of field is a tad too shallow for my taste. However, I personally like the sharpness on the photograph - especially on the plane of focus.
I am also rather fond of pictures taken on the 35mm format, which I do indeed attempt to replicate from time-to-time.
This picture is inspiring as it shows how creativity does not always incorporate the technical aspects of photography.

This picture then incorporates that same idea, considering the picture is taken at an awkward angle which displays the reflections of the water and the skyline.

Bath Time and One Miserable Pug...

So I just bathed my dog, dried him and let him do his thing...then he just sat there miserably for about five minutes without moving, so I had the uncontrollable urge to take some photos of him and take advantage of the situation. I like these photos because the aperture was set to about f2.8 or so which made the background look more tender, to benefit the idea of how miserable he looks.

London

These photos were uploaded from my trip to London. The architecture is really nice in London, and looks superb when you grade your images to a saturated monochrome as the images tend to look more dramatic due to the harsh contrast and sharpening I apply in post.

Although from an artistic standpoint, these images are post modern and are heavily inspired by Ronya Galka and Matt Stuart, although I only admire these peoples' work, I do tend to apply my own style in post.

More Flowers...

These were taken on my Sigma 30mm f1.4 again, it's my favorite lens in my ensemble by far, it performed super well at it's widest aperture and despite a slight vignette (that can be corrected in post) the lens is near perfect for how much I paid for it, which was about 369 pounds but you can usually pick it up for cheaper if you search online.

These were also composited in Lightroom, I played around with the greens to make them more bronze.
